Private Pilot Certificate

 

To be eligible for a Private Pilot Certificate, you must meet the following requirements set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):

 

  1. Minimum requirement - 40 hours of total flight time to include at least:

 

A.     20 hours of flight training from an FAA authorized Flight Instructor.

 

B.      10 hours solo flight training.

 

C.     10 hours of flight training from an FAA authorized Flight Instructor or solo flight training as required to meet the minimum flight time requirements and to build proficiency.

 

  1. This training will be conducted as set forth by the FAA, and will cover all applicable maneuvers and procedures required to successfully obtain a Single-Engine Land Private Pilot Certificate.

 

  1. Applicants must pass a 60-question computer based multiple- choice written test with a 70% score or better.

 

  1. Pass a Private Pilot Practical Exam with an FAA authorized Pilot Examiner.

 

Approximate flight training costs are outlined below.  This cost is based on 40 hours of total flight time, with training completed in a Cessna 172. Total cost of flight training may vary based on type of aircraft flown, applicant motivation, and individual skill. Average total time to build proficiency is between 55 and 60 hrs total flight time.  Prices
